Deliveries around the world are stalling because cargo ships have to wait in ports to be unloaded. The massage chair world in Stuttgart is also affected by the situation, which has now spread across the globe. But Michael Roedeske, owner of Massage Chair World, took precautions and filled his warehouse at the beginning of the year. He has also already thought about the end of the year.

The first delay in international goods traffic occurred at the beginning of the lockdown in 2020, when containers were unable to leave Asian ports due to the pandemic. Added to this was the accident in the Suez Canal. For the 2021 Christmas business, Roedeske had to take into account price increases for its massage chairs due to shortages of goods. The situation in Shanghai is still uncertain today due to Covid-19, and the traffic jam of seagoing vessels has still not been resolved. "All activism is of little use at the moment. We have to have a lot of patience and endure the situation," says Michael Roedeske. When it comes to his customers, he is not at a loss for new ideas and at the beginning of the year he had already filled the warehouses in Remshalden and an extension in Fellbach for 75% of his range. Nevertheless, there may be delays with some of its products: around ten loaded seagoing ships are currently still gathering in the Elbe Canal off Hamburg, and another 100 are waiting to enter the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. For the North Sea, this is a density that is clearly visible from the air, which pushes ports and staff to their limits to unload the containers. Massage chairs that were ordered long ago are also among the goods at sea.

Relaxation is necessary across the board

“The port workers in particular, who currently have to work hundreds of additional shifts, could really use a massage chair right now,” Roedeske thinks. For him, his products are more than wellness: they provide health for body and mind. "This is something that is immensely important today. We have been living in a state of emergency for what feels like two years. Corona has been replaced by the Ukraine crisis, the tension is not letting up." Massage chairs provide conscious time out and relaxation in the truest sense of the word - both components that are an integral part of everyday life for Roedeske.

Christmas always comes so suddenly

The entrepreneur and owner of Massage Chair World is closely monitoring the market and has learned from the experiences of the past few years. "We are already looking ahead to the Christmas business. In any case, we want to be able to deliver from November so that we can give our customers the time off they deserve in a timely manner."

Michael Roedeske and his team are available to provide information on delivery times and deadlines. “Surely an alternative can be found for those who are in a hurry,” he offers his customers.
